What’s my story?

I’m Ming. Life for me starts in the Chinese coastal city of Fuzhou. Early on, my parents and I came to this country to chase the sweet American Dream.

After high school, I decided to chase my dream of giving back to my family and the community that raised me. At 21, I graduated with my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting.

While I haven’t starred in a blockbuster superhero film (at the time of writing), I’ve discovered another way to tell stories. Starting with my cousin’s Canon EOS Mark II, I’ve taken my fair share of shabby shots and embarrassing edits.

The mistakes and lessons learned not only through those pictures, but also in my life have shaped me into the photographer I am today. For over a decade, I’ve captured moments of the calm and the storm. Of bliss and despair. Of defeat and triumph.

Life ain’t easy, but it is beautiful. Sometimes, you just have to step back, laugh, and remind yourself that you are part of that beauty.
